What Does Kava Taste Like?
Kava has a distinctly earthy, peppery flavour. Most people do not choose it because it tastes like a soft drink. They choose it for the ritual and the way it fits into their evening. It can also be mixed with chilled water or your preferred alcohol-free mixer.

Questions, Answered
What does it taste like?
Distinctly earthy and peppery. Most people mix it with coconut water, juice or lemon-lime for a smoother drink. You get used to the taste quickly, and many come to enjoy the ritual.
How much should I take?
Start with 1 teaspoon (5g) in 200ml of cold water. You can adjust to taste and effect. A mild numbing of the tongue is normal and expected.
When should I drink it?
Kava is traditionally enjoyed in the evening, once the day is done, at least 1 hour before bed.
Does kava contain alcohol?
No. FijiKava contains no alcohol and no standard drinks.
Can I drink it before driving?
No. Kava may cause drowsiness. Do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery after consuming kava.
Can I mix it with alcohol, or use it on medication?
Do not consume kava with alcohol. Speak with your doctor before drinking kava if you take any medication or have a liver condition. Kava is not suitable for anyone under 18, or for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How is this different from traditional grind?
Instant powder is micronised to dissolve straight into water — no kneading or straining. Traditional grind delivers the classic preparation ritual with a strainer bag. Same 100% Noble Kava root.
Where can I buy it?
Online here with Australia-wide delivery, and at selected Coles and Woolworths stores.
